Our Lady of Perpetual Help School Philosophy

Our Lady of Perpetual Help Elementary School is committed to providing a Catholic education to our increasingly diverse student body. The administration, faculty, and staff are mindful of their responsibility to educate and evangelize students for the Church's mission in the world. The school strives to enhance the spiritual, intellectual, emotional, social, and physical development of its students in a safe, nurturing environment.

Our faith community has an ever present devotion to Mary, Our Mother of Perpetual Help. Our children are encouraged to embrace the need for lifelong faith formation. We view the process of educating students as an integration of word, worship, and service through prayer, charitable projects, liturgical celebrations, and involvement in parish ministries.

Our Lady of Perpetual Help School embraces the unique talents and inherent dignity of each individual. The school endeavors to provide a variety of learning experiences and to create an atmosphere in which each student's potential can prosper and flourish.

Our Lady of Perpetual Help School provides a challenging academic program in accordance with New York State Learning Standards and the guidelines of the Diocese of Brooklyn. Our focus is on conceptual development, critical thinking, and intellectual enlightenment. The curriculum is carefully followed and skillfully adapted to incorporate technology, character education, moral values, and social awareness; thus, preparing our students to go forth as capable, caring, vital, young men and women committed to working for the good of all.
